About Me
The art of hand dyeing wool for me came from necessity. I took one class and I was hooked; but I couldn’t find any wool fabric locally. So, in 2002 I bought a book and taught myself how to dye. Soon, I realized that other people wanted hand dyed wool too. That same year I launched an online store called A Plaid Wool Company. At the time, I was really loving all things “plaid.”
Fast forward to 2018. I’ve taken my company in a new direction and renamed it “West Coast Wool.” I wanted to change things up a bit, focus on a brighter color palette and let you know as customers what part of the country I call home.
As well as dyeing wool, I teach regular wool applique workshops at local shops. In my spare time I enjoy knitting, embroidery, quilting, and folk art painting.
